Hawaii Adventure – Day 12

Hawaii Adventure – Day 12

Our 12th and final day in Hawaii was spent soaking up the very last bit of Hawaiian sunshine that we could find. We wanted to leave ourselves plenty of time at the airport, and we knew that each of our bags had to weigh under 50 lbs. – a tough feat for us over-packers. So we enjoyed our last breakfast at the Club Lounge (yes, more Miso soup, along with lots of other tasty treats), then set out for Front Street in Lahaina.

Chandler and Braden had eyed a few souvenirs on our trip but had yet to choose a single thing. I wanted to be sure that they had an opportunity to bring something home that would remind them of the sweet memories we made in Hawaii. Each of them chose a hat from the Aloha Hat Shop. Landin had already chosen a sweatshirt, and Kylie had picked a Hawaiian dress and matching necklace. After shopping one last time, and desperately searching for our very favorite Kauai Coffee (not available on Maui it turns out), we headed to the airport.

In total, our epic island vacation lasted 14 days. We had started in San Diego, CA, at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, where we got to experience our first Breakfast Republic – a restaurant that should be in every city in America!

We then spent four days on each of three islands – Oahu, Kauai, and Maui. Our final day was spent visiting a dear friend in Oakland, CA. Along the way, we experienced a lifetime’s worth of excitement, adventure and love, on the greatest vacation of our lives.

In the upcoming days, I’ll be sharing more details about our two weeks in Hawaii. Specifically, I’ll explain how we carefully researched and planned every flight, resort reservation and excursion to maximize the value of our TRAVEL POINTS – and turned a financially unattainable vacation into a very affordable adventure. Here’s a hint: the whole trip cost around 10 cents on the dollar! Stay tuned . . . I’ll be explaining very soon!
