Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse: A Stylish Oasis

We began our day at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse JFK, which is a true standout, reflecting the airline’s chic and modern brand. Located in Terminal 4, it’s a vibrant space designed for relaxation and enjoyment.

• Amenities: Expect a full-service bar with craft cocktails, a delicious a la carte dining menu with hot and cold options, and plenty of comfortable seating areas. Some unique features often include a billiards table and even a spa area for quick pre-flight treatments.
• Vibe: Trendy, energetic, and sophisticated. It’s a great spot to socialize or simply unwind in style.

Our first visit to this lounge was two years ago, when traveling to Germany. The constant care and attention, along with the delicious food, made this lounge really stand out!

Delta Sky Club: Southern Hospitality in the Big Apple

Our next lounge stop, also located in Terminal 4, was the Delta Sky Club JFK, which offers a consistently excellent experience for Delta’s premium passengers. Although we were flying on Virgin Atlantic, we were able to visit this lounge because of their partnership with Delta.

• Amenities: You’ll find a wide selection of complimentary food and beverages, including a buffet with hot and cold dishes, a full bar, and often regional specialties. There are ample seating options, business workstations, and usually showers available for those looking to freshen up.
• Vibe: Reliable, comfortable, and efficient, with a welcoming atmosphere. It’s a solid choice for a consistent lounge experience.

On this visit, we found this lounge to be MUCH busier than on our first visit, only a few years earlier.

Our Top Pick: The Capital One Lounge: A New Era of Airport Luxury

While the Virgin and Delta lounges are fantastic, our third and final lounge was the new Capital One Lounge JFK in Terminal 4, which has quickly become one of our absolute favorites. It redefines what an airport lounge can be.

• Amenities: Get ready for an incredible culinary experience with a top-notch, chef-driven menu featuring locally sourced ingredients, craft cocktails, and an extensive coffee bar. Beyond the food, expect high-speed Wi-Fi, private workspaces, relaxation rooms, and some of the most luxurious shower suites you’ll find at an airport. They even have exercise bikes for a quick pre-flight workout!
• Vibe: Modern, serene, and incredibly luxurious. It feels more like a high-end hotel lobby than an airport lounge, offering unparalleled comfort and amenities. If you have access, this is a must-visit.
• Why We Love It: The attention to detail, the quality of the food and drink, and the overall peaceful ambiance make it an exceptional place to start your journey.

Thanks to our Capital One Venture X Credit Card, we were all able to visit this brand new lounge. One of my favorite things here was the authentic New York bagel bar, and the tree in the middle of the lounge – a shout out to New York’s Central Park!

From JFK to LHR: Virgin Atlantic Business Class Overnight

After enjoying the lounges, it was time to board our Virgin Atlantic Business Class (Upper Class) flight from JFK to London Heathrow (LHR). For an overnight transatlantic flight, business class truly makes all the difference, especially when you want to maximize sleep.

From the moment we settled into our spacious seats, the Virgin Atlantic crew was attentive and welcoming. A choice of chilled Prosecco, orange juice, or sparkling water was offered, setting the tone for a luxurious journey.

The dining experience was exceptional. We enjoyed a delicious multi-course meal, perfectly tailored for an evening departure. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

One of the highlights of flying overnight business class with Virgin Atlantic is the emphasis on comfort for sleep. We were provided with soft, comfortable pajamas, allowing us to change out of our travel clothes and truly relax. The lie-flat seats transformed into a comfortable bed, complete with a cozy duvet and pillow. The ability to stretch out completely and drift off to sleep made the overnight journey incredibly pleasant. Despite the short duration (7 hours), we truly did manage to sleep all the way to London, waking up feeling refreshed and ready to start our day.

Arriving in London: Seamless Transfer and Boutique Comfort

Upon landing at London Heathrow, our journey continued seamlessly thanks to a pre-arranged transfer with Transfeero. This wonderful shuttle company provided a comfortable and efficient ride, taking all the stress out of navigating a new city after an overnight flight. We highly recommend their services for reliable airport transfers.

Our destination was the Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars hotel. This stunning hotel perfectly blends historic charm with modern luxury, located in a vibrant area of London. The comfortable accommodations and excellent service were the perfect end to our smooth journey.
