Do you qualify for a FREE National Park Pass?
Do you have a fourth grader in your household this year??? Guess what? You qualify for the “Every Kid in a Park” Pass, by the National Park Foundation…..for FREE! All members of your household under the age of 16 will automatically be included, and the pass includes three adults too. For many families, this means that every visit to a national park, from now until August 31st, 2020, will be free. You may use the pass as many times as you’d like! Here are some of my favorite National Parks in and around our country:
- Yosemite – California
- Zion National Park and Arches National Park – Utah
- Mount Haleakala and Volcanoes National Park – Hawaii
- Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park – Wyoming
- The Grand Canyon – Arizona
- Great Smoky Mountains National Park – Tennessee
- Acadia National Park – Maine
Because these parks are spread out, you might need to save one (or several) for another year. If that’s the case, then I’d recommend the Great Smoky Mountains National Park be that park. It is included as one of the free parks in the National Park system, so there is no advantage to have the “Every Kid in a Park” pass.
Visiting the National Parks will change you forever. Hiking majestic waterfalls, seeing the Grand Canyon, watching a sunrise on Mt. Haleakala – these things will broaden your horizons and open your eyes to the beauty and wonder of our world.
Inspired to take a National Park vacation? Well now’s the time to start planning. If you’ve been following along and would like to know how to get there on points (i.e.: paying little to no money for your flights, hotels, etc…), check out this post. Happy hiking, my friends!!

And here is a Let’s Get To The Point “Points Maximizer”: If your child will be in the 4thgrade next year (2020-2021), start planning now for your cross-country National Park adventure. Starting early will allow you to research and select cards with the best points options, strategically pick your destinations, and accumulate the most points possible so you can keep your cash for other things. If you need help putting this together, well, that is what we do here at Let’s Get To The Point . . . message me here.
